That night was stacked up against some serious competition, so only a handful of people were able to experience it. WHY: On occasion, we like to take the “east” in our name seriously. This week is one of those. We’re headed up north, but very much on the east side of this big-ass city. We’ve been invited to Primebar, enticed with drink specials and other goodies. This place has only been open a few weeks, and they want us to test out their ability to handle a crowd. No worries. A crowd we have.
In fact, it’s a bigger crowd than usual. The fine folks from our sister group #nfvn are also joining us. I really enjoy the chance to hang out with other #pfn groups — here’s another chance!
UPDATE:Looks like the others didn’t want left out in the cold either! The down-towners from #dtfn and the west-siders from #wvfn have also decided this is the place to be. Now if we can just revive #lrfn and get them there, it’ll be one big happy family!

WHY: You’ve probably heard of the Gangplank move by now. If not, Gangplank moved to downtown Chandler. The sole employee of said tech incubator and collaborative workspace has planned an open mic night this Friday at 8pm. So we’re going to head down to eat and drink at Siracha before that. Derek Neighbors has assured me that the manager Virakon will take good care of us.
If you want to head to the open mic after, feel free. If you’re not quite ready to give up the night life, there are plenty of bar-type options available in downtown Chandler.

So… it turns out that your Awesome Organizers of #evfn will all be out of town this coming Friday, July 9th. We reached out to a few stand-by hosts, but all of them have prior engagements.
We’ve got places lined up for the rest of the month, but we’re currently shy a place and a wrangler for this coming Friday. That means one of two things:

You’re on your own. Hey, I’m sure you can find some place to drink and eat all by your selves.
Someone needs to step up. Fast. I’m out of town starting tomorrow with shaky interweb access, which will make it tough to post. So if you want it. Take it. Tonight.

So this week is the opening celebration for two amazing things: Co+Hoots–a kickass co-working space downtown, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
What does that mean to us? Well, we’re gonna hang out at Co+Hoots for their opening celebration then head down to AMC Arizona Center 24 to catch the 9:10 show. We are probably going to want to be about an hour early to the theatres, and it is a good idea to buy your tickets as soon as possible.
