WHY: Special thanks to Lunchbox Collective for once again sponsoring the beverages, snacks and location for #evfn this night. Our trips to Studios 5C truly have become a favorite of our group, as brand new people always show up. Yay for interpersonal communications!
As usual when we’re at Studios 5C, we’re sharing the spotlight… this time with Haller Design‘s launch of Apple Pie – A collection of retro sports graphics made for apparel and inspired by vintage America. Come help make their launch a great event, hang with us on a Friday night and a have a beer or two on Lunchbox.

And yes, this is the last #evfn of 2009. We’re taking the rest of December off and will start up again in 2010 for all-new fun!

Others of us are different types of fools and have seriously over-consumed the day before. Either way, there’s no way we’re going to try and coordinate an #evfn. So I’ll repeat:

WHY: So yeah… a grocery store. By now, all of you regulars know what to expect. A fantastic time. For you noobs, no… we don’t drink in the isles. Whole Foods has a fantastic Tapas bar. 8 beers on tap and at least a dozen open bottles of wine. And if none of those strike your fancy, grab any bottle — or can — off the shelf and enjoy it in the bar.
Food? Oh yeah. Sushi, BBQ, salad, pizza, burritos, prime rib… this place isn’t lacking for fresh made delicious food. Really, you have to experience it believe it. So why not do it with us? We love new folks!
And if you’re of the mind to be helpful this Thanksgiving season, Nick — you know him as @raillife — is collecting $1 (or more) from everyone. It’s the annual Rail Life Turkey Drive. Last year he collected enough donations to get almost 900 pounds of turkey for needy families. So help out if you can.

WHY: Sandwiched right in the middle of Phoenix WordCamp and PodCamp AZ is a Friday night. Loads of folks new and old, so we’re getting together. It’s a short drive from those venues to The Tavern on Mill, an establishment with plenty of food and drink waiting for us.
And if you’re going to some other Geek Week AZ event, come on down! We’re one big happy — and drinking — family.

WHY: This time we’re partying at Diamond’s Sports Grill. You may know the place as Sluggo’s. That’s what Yelp calls it. Same place. Say “hi” to Emy when you get there. She was gracious enough to make accommodations for us, even though I was very late in calling and that they don’t normally take reservations. So show up and be nice.
We’ll do the normal thing: drink and eat until around 8:00. Some of you — all of you? — may want to hang out a bit later, as we’re keeping the place warm for the TEDx after party! They won’t start showing up until after 9:00, but we’re on at 6:00. So don’t be (too) late, as I’ve promised Emy we’ll have a sizable crowd at 6:00. Don’t make me a liar.
