When: Friday, January 29, 5:45 PM-
The year continues at fun-speed for West Valley Friday Nights, and the Macayo’s restaurant at 6012 W. Bell Road is your place around town to get rid of the frown.
We’ll get there 45 minutes before Happy Hour ends, so cheers!
We’re up for a follow-up at very nearby Barwinkles, Famous Sam’s or Carlin’s Grog Shop (how cool a name is that) for extra drinks and fun!
There’s already a good group confirmed – and leave comments here or on Twitter for places you’d like to see us invade, er takeover, er fill with happy people (and invade and takeover, OK, yes)
When: Friday, January 29, 2010 6:30 pm
Where: MacAlpine’s Soda Fountain and The Main Ingredient Ale House | 2300 block of N. 7th Street
Something old, something new, sounds like a great formula for a kickass #dtfn. We’re gonna start at the old style soda shop MacAlpines for some snacks and desserts. Then we’re gonna head over to the brand new Main Ingredient Ale House to enjoy some of Matt Diamond’s new specialties–it is in the spot formerly known as Lisa G.
RSVP on facebook and let us know you’re coming.
WHEN: Friday, January 29th 6-8p
WHERE: Whole Foods
2955 W Ray Rd
Chandler, Arizona 85224
WHAT: Yes, it’s a grocery store. But you haven’t experienced the store like this. Eight or more kegs of craft-brewed beer. Dozens of wines-by-the-glass to choose from. And your food choices are… legion. It’s not your typical experience. Then again… neither are we.
Come find us in the Tapas bar. #evfn folks get discounted drinks and our own special menu. So be sure and leave a review of Whole Foods here on Yelp. The more we pimp, the more we’ll get!
Some folks calls it a tweetup. I calls it an #evfn. Remember the agenda: no agenda. Have fun. Meet people. Party on!

Once we are done enjoying the tunes, we will be heading out to out usual pubs, so keep up with the #dtfn tag on twitter to keep up with us!
WHEN: Friday, January 22, 2010 6-8p
WHERE: Siracha Lounge
91 W Boston St
Chandler, AZ 85224
WHY: This week we head to Historic Old Town Chandler for a visit to a brand new place — Siracha Lounge! Community advocate and Gimli stunt-double Derek Neighbors has been on my case to bring #even here for a while. So I tossed him the keys and he made it happen.
Siracha offers Asian fusion cuisine and has, as Derek said in his Yelp review, “Great atmosphere. Hilarious menu text. This place has real character and fantastic food to match. The back patio is fabulous.”
Sounds good to me. Barring rain, we’ll be on that back patio. That or we’ll pile inside. And if you hang out until 9:00 you can join some of us for karaoke!

What: Karaoke and Celebrating Samantha’s Birthday
Where: Apollo’s 5749 North 7th Street
When: Friday, January 15 2010 9:00 pm
So, it is the first time we’ve had #dtfn at a gay bar. Go figure. It just so happens that the best Friday karaoke in Central Phoenix is at Apollo’s, so that’s where we’re heading. Sure, it is a little later than usual, but it is going to be a great time. Oh, and it is Samantha’s (@tambre) birthday. We hear she loves karaoke.
WHEN: Friday, January 15th 6p – 8p (or stay late and karaoke)
WHERE: Buffalo Wings & Rings
1760 W. Chandler Blvd. #2
Chandler, AZ 85224
WHY: For our second outing after the December break, we’re hitting the best craftbrew pub in Chandler. Nope, I’m not kidding. Not about beer. Jim and Mike do an excellent job rotating out various options on a weekly basis. They keep many high-quality brews as staples, yet offer outstanding seasonal and local varieties.
The food? Killer. Try the sloppy fries. As a meal. The burgers are great, and my vegetarian wife loves the place, too. Sports on a dozen TVs, a smart and attentive wait staff… and if you hang out long enough, they even have karaoke!
One other huge bonus: BWR offers a free shuttle service. Yes, that’s right. Free. They’ll pick you up and take you back home. All they ask is that you tip the driver. So if you’re flying solo and can’t hitch a ride with a friend, drop them a line and arrange for door-to-door service.

Where: Rose & Crown 628 East Adams Street
It’s a new year, so let’s start out at a favorite downtown hangout with a great atmosphere for spending time with old and new friends. Rose & Crown, a.k.a the place you go when you are waiting for a seat at Pizzeria Bianco, is gonna be rockin with your favorite #dtfn peeps. Join the fun after work at 5:30.
Get the year started off right with friends and support of a grand community gathering.

Sushi and sake bombers the highlights of the festivities …
And Half-Acre Hell – just downstairs near the fountain plaza – is the transition to a film – vampire horror film Daybreakers and lighter, romantic fare , Leap Year release Friday. Sherlock Holmes, Up in The Air also playing.
Come one come all.
WHEN: Friday, January 8th 6p – 8p
WHERE: CK’s Tavern & Grill
4142 E Chandler Blvd
Ahwatukee, Arizona 85048
WHY: After a much-needed break over the month of December, we’re back at it! We kick off our return at CK’s Grill, just off the 10 and Chandler Road. CK’s is a favorite haunt of the likes of Chuck Reynolds and Amy Sellers, so we know you’ll like it!
And just for us, head-dude Tommy Pierucki is offering up an extended happy hour. For the rest of the slobs, it ends at 7:00. But say you’re part of the #evfn crowd — you’ll be sitting with us anyhow — and that gets extended until we leave! So eat, drink and be merry — and safe. No idiots, OK? Have someone drive you home.
