Our first WVFN last year was at Auld Dubliner. Irish Car Bombs featured heavily as we sat outside and enjoyed EVERYTHING.

WHY: Yes, it’s a grocery store. But you haven’t experienced the store like this. Eight or more kegs of craft-brewed beer. Dozens of wines-by-the-glass to choose from. And your food choices are… legion. It’s not your typical experience. Then again… neither are we.

Why: OK; yes. Before you say it: I know this marks the third time in a ROW we’ve been in Tempe. Relax, we’ll go further east very soon.
But we’ve been on a roll with these first-time places, and we’ve not yet done an #evfn at Dave’s. So we’re doing it. Quick and easy off the light rail, as it’s literally across the street from the Stadium stop. They make their own beers and have food as well. We did the No Pants after party here and it worked great!
So when Roger @halfacat said “Hey, can we do it a Dave’s?”, the answer was simple: Yes Roger. And you’re in charge.

It’s time for les Jeux olympiques d’hiver, and the opening ceremonies are this Friday. What better place to catch the pomp and circumstance than our beloved George and Dragon Pub, located right next to the Indian School light rail stop. The ceremonies start at 8, but we’ll get the party started early.
It is noteworthy that the almost year old West Valley Friday Night has its own Twitter account, @wvfnphx.
Technically this account started last September, but then I promptly completely forgot about it. And yesterday I remembered the password.
It will be strictly for WVFN news, so you won’t be flooded with Tweets – and I don’t plan to do much 3WVFN tweeting from my own account so sign seal and deliver this!

WHY: Robbie Fox’s just opened up a week ago. I happened by at lunch today and found the place would be great for an #evfn. Huge patio outside, more beer choices than I usually find at an Irish pub, tasty food and a helpful staff!
Anne Marie said she’d be happy to host us and is looking forward to the event! So let’s pack the place. Yes, I realize it’s been two weeks in row in Tempe. Yes, I realize that’s not all that “east”. But dammit, we’ve got a lot of ground to cover. And I like the place. So deal.
