WHEN: Friday, April 2nd 2010 from 6-8p

WHERE: SanTan Brewing
8 South San Marcos Plaza
Chandler, Arizona 85225

WHY: This time we’re headed back to SanTan Brewery in Historic Downtown Chandler. And not only does this place is great brew pub with some of the best pretzels in town. SanTan was selected so that folks attending the screening of Lemonade: The Movie at the Downtown Chandler Public Library across the street could join #evfn after it’s over. Details here.

So go watch the movie if you like. We’ll hold seats for you. And then we’ll all go to Laid Off Camp the next day. It’ll be a party!

Some folks calls it a tweetup. I calls it an #evfn. Remember the agenda: no agenda. Have fun. Meet people. Party on!

WHEN: Friday, March 26th 6-8p

WHERE: Whole Foods
2955 W Ray Rd.
Chandler, AZ

WHY: Yes, it’s a grocery store. But you haven’t experienced the store like this. Eight or more kegs of craft-brewed beer. Dozens of wines-by-the-glass to choose from. And your food choices are… legion. It’s not your typical experience. Then again… neither are we.

Come find us in the Tapas bar. #evfn folks get discounted drinks and our own special menu. So be sure and leave a review of Whole Foods here on Yelp. The more we pimp, the more we’ll get!

WHEN: We’re taking Friday March 19th off.

WHERE: Go to another #pfn event in the valley!

WHY: This Friday marks the start of the NCAA basketball tournament. While you may not be a basketball fan (I’m not), it does prove to be a rather challenging night for us. We’re just too damned big, and most places are going to be cram-packed with people. No one is keen on reserving 40 seats when they can pack them with other people.

So we’re taking the night off. I know that #nvfn is meeting at Rock Bottom. Unsure where #dtfn is. Also unsure if #wvfn is meeting this week. And I’m not even sure if #lrfn is happening anymore or not. So… head north!

BUT… #evfn isn’t ending. It’s just an off-week for us. We’ll be back next week. And the next. And we’ll keep going. But due to our size, we may run into this problem from time to time. And that’s OK. Everyone needs a night off.

Have fun!

If February’s #nvfn was any indication, you’re going to have an absolute blast at March’s event.

***Please note the venue change to Rock Bottom***

Our first stop of the night will be on the patio at Rock Bottom Brewery at the Desert Ridge Marketplace (21001 N. Tatum Blvd, just northeast of Loop 101).

If you have suggestions for a specific location for this or future events, let us know.

Come join in the mayhem!

WHEN: Friday, March 12 from 6-8p

WHERE: Sleepy Dog Saloon & Brewery
1920 E University
Tempe, Arizona 85281

WHY: Back to the Sleepy Dog! I’m a huge fan of quirk, and this place is full of it. Exceptional beers. Seriously. And just about any kind of food you want — delivered. Huh? That’s right. They don’t have a kitchen. But they do have great relationships with all the best delivery places near by and a host of menus to choose from. You don’t go hungry. Or thirsty.

We’re also giving the spotlight to our very own little Jackie Mangan. He’s having his annual Deadpan Meetup this weekend, and he’s making #evfn a part of it. So he’ll bring in some new bodies. Hooray for fresh meat!

West Valley Friday Night is at the Yardhouse at WestGate Center, starting at 6pm, on the lower level of the center.

I’ll be eating ice cream only, the rest of you can down anything and everything they have to offer, including a wide variety of beers.

I’d like to try a new policy of at least 9 “absolutely I’m comings” otherwise we’ll postpone it to another night. It’s too hard to plan or secure discounts not knowing how many might show up.

When: Friday, March 5, 6:30 PM

Where: My Florist, 530 W. McDowell Rd.; then Sidebar, 1514 N. 7th Ave.

Yep, It’s another First Friday, but let’s steer clear of the crazed crowds and head a little North to My Florist, to listen to some great music and have some yummy sandwiches. Of course, once we have a drink or 2, we are almost obligated to head over to Sidebar to finish out the night.

You can RSVP on Facebook if you want

WHEN: Friday, March 5th from 6-8p

WHERE: Buffalo Wings & Rings
1760 W. Chandler Blvd. #2
Chandler, AZ 85224

WHY: BWR is a personal favorite of mine. The seriously do have the largest selection of craftbrews in the East Valley. Mike always makes us feel right at home, and the servers do a damned fine job of taking care of our big party. Food? They have it. Fabulous wings, you might have guessed. And a host of other options.

And if the last time we were here is any indication, many of us will be staying late for the Karaoke excitement that starts at 9:00. This place is full of regulars who are real characters. They’ve let us jump right in, so stick around for the excellent singing. Keesha is not to be missed.
